How to Fix iPhone 4S Battery Life Bugs

Currently iPhone 4S battery life drainage issue has become one of the major topic in the Apple Support Communities forum with over thousands of comment to date. iPhone 4S users complaint that they are having some really bad experience with iPhone 4S compare to all the earlier version of iPhone they ever use. The 4S battery life outrage does not stop there.
There are a few possible bugs in iOS 5 that may be sucking an inordinate amount of life out of your battery: a calendar bug and a time zone bug (one of which can be summarily blamed on location services, as can most of the other battery life killers in iOS 5/iPhone 4S).
The calendar bug is still somewhat unclear, but has been reported in Apple forums. Basically, when your calendar app is turned on in the Notifications Center, events are “re-ordering themselves near-constantly,” which sucks the life straight out of the phone. The only fix as of now, unfortunately, seems to be disabling the calendar app within the Notifications center.
The Time Zone bug, however, seems to be solved (although again, by disabling things). Oliver Haslam over at iDownloadBlog noticed, like many of us, that iOS 5 was sucking his iPhone 4 battery dry. He realized that by going into Settings > Location Services > System Services (all the way at the bottom) > Setting Time Zone, and toggling off the location services, his battery life nearly doubled. According to Haslam, iOS 5 probably has a bug that constantly pings the servers to update location, and thus update time zone settings.
When it comes down to it, iOS 5′s location services are most usually the culprit in cases of random battery life drainage for no apparent reason. It allows your apps and other services to ping for your location way more often than before, but in many cases it’s totally unnecessary (like TapTap Revenge, for example). Just head into Settings > Location Services and browse through the various apps using the phone’s location. The option to turn it off for some apps but not others is there for a reason; use it.
Don’t forget to dip back into System Services (yep, all the way at the bottom), and disable anything you deem unworthy. Diagnostics & Usage should fall into that category, as it merely sends back information to Apple about the way you use your phone and where. And, any one of the services you turn off can always be turned back on. No harm done.
Email, especially with certain settings, can really wear on your battery since the Mail app can be set to ping mail servers almost constantly. An easy way to help spare some green bar is to really take a look at your account(s) and what you need out of them. If most of your emails tend to be about daily deals or new book releases, do you really need them pushed immediately to your phone? Axe push if you can, and if your accounts don’t support it anyway, play with your update timings and try to find the right balance between being in the loop and being able to use your phone.
Siri uses up a lot of processing power, but I wouldn’t kill her for it. Siri is one of the iPhone 4S’s best features, and other sacrifices can be made to save her.
Then, of course, the basics: turn off Wifi and Bluetooth, turn down screen brightness, and keep the phone out of the sun and/or heat. Oh, and if you have such crappy service that you’re not really able to use your phone much anyway, you might as well just switch it to Airplane mode. It’ll stop the phone from working so hard to connect and maintain that connection, and should last you much longer once you’re in a place you can actually use it.
The truth is there isn’t some quick fix or magical solution to this problem. It’s a question of priorities. Which apps, which notifications, which location services are worth a speedier death for your iPhone? In the end, it’s your decision. At least until Apple rolls out an update to iOS 5 and squashes a few of these issues.

Siri Has Been Successfully Ported to All iOS5 Devices.

FSM has reported Developer and Coffee lover Jackoplane was claiming that he had successfully ported much loved and currently iPhone 4s only feature Siri to all iDevices running iOS 5. Now, we know what you’re saying “I’ve seen the videos of Siri on iPhone 4 and it’s lagging and unresponsive!”. Well, Mr. Jack says he’ll be posted a video of it “shortly”.
Oh and one more thing, @Jackoplane says you will not need to be jailbroken to get Siri working on your iOS 5 device, Jack mentions you can use a called “NSFileManager”, which I looked up and it’s not for the non-developer type people to say the least . But let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope this isn’t a hoax to get some attention.

RedSnow Update to Quick Jailbreak iOs 5

The iPhone Dev-Team has just released RedSn0w 0.9.9b6 which offers quick iOS 5 jailbreaking for Windows and fixes Location Services issue for iPhone 3GS devices running on the 06.15 baseband.

With RedSn0w 0.9.9b6 Windows users no longer need to pre-select the 5.0 IPSW when first jailbreaking, also:

We've released version 0.9.9b6 of redsn0w, with both a functional fix and cosmetic fix for iOS5 jailbreakers. For iPhone3GS owners with the 06.15 baseband, this redsn0w eliminates the network crash you saw when using Location Services in iOS5 (in fact, you don't even need to disable Location Services anymore during the initial setup). The cosmetic fix is to the visual countdown you see when going into DFU mode.

It's okay to re-run this redsn0w over an existing device jailbroken at iOS5. Just choose "Jailbreak" again and de-select Cydia (in other words, all the checkboxes will be unchecked). If you are lucky enough to have an old-bootrom iPhone3GS, please pre-select the IPSW first (redsn0w can't yet auto-detect the FW version of your old-bootrom 3GS if it's already been jailbroken).

You can download the latest RedSn0w version from here.

Mempercepat Kinerja Windows 7

Mempercepat Kinerja Windows 7

Tweaking dan tune up Windows 7

Mempercepat waktu Booting Windows 7

Mengurangi Visual Effect Windows 7

  • Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing
  • Enable transparent glass
  • Fade or slide menus into view
  • dll, :)
Dari kesemuanya, menonaktifkan “Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing” adalah yang paling disarankan, karena akan mempercepat perpindahan antar window satu ke window lainnya. Berikut adalah langkah-langkahnya:
1. Klik Start (logo Windows) kemudian ketikkan SystemPropertiesPerformance pada kota Search. Klik aplikasi yang muncul atau tekan Enter.
2. Pada tab Visual Effects, hilangkan centang pada radio Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing. Perhatikan juga pada pilihan-pilihan lainnya. Jika sobat ingin menghilangkan efek-efek lain yang dirasa kurang perlu maka hilangkan saja tanda centangnya.

1. Buka Control Panel (Klik Start dan pilih Control Panel, atau buka melalui Windows Explorer), kemudian pilih folder Fonts.
2. Buat folder baru untuk mem-back up atau memindahkan font-font yang tidak terpakai.

Mempercepat proses Shutdown Windows 7

Jika diterangkan mungkin lumayan panjang. So, cari saja tutorialnya di mbah Google.
That’s all I know.

Apple is negotiating to add movies to iCloud

It is reported that Apple is negotiating to add movies to iCloud, which allows users to purchase movies on their mobile devices without manually transferring them, according to U.S. LATimes. I'm not sure would this action revise the movie publish industry like iTunes changed music industry years ago.
Representatives of the iPhone and iPad maker have been meeting with studios to finalize deals that would allow consumers to buy movies through iTunes and access them on any Apple device, according to knowledgeable people who requested anonymity because the discussions are private. The service is expected to launch in late 2011 or early 2012.
This report comes one day after Apple launched its iCloud service and just as a similar solution from movie studios, dubbed UltraViolet, is unveiled.
Ultraviolet is backed by a consortium of Hollywood studios and tech companies and gives people who buy DVDs or Blu-ray discs for upcoming titles, including Sony Pictures' "The Smurfs" and Universal Pictures' "Cowboys and Aliens," access to digital cloud copies they can watch instantly.
Most studios with the exception of Disney are working on Ultraviolet.

Dev-team redsnow Jailbreak ios 5

The iPhone Dev-Team has released a tethered jailbreak for iOS 5. Currently only the Mac version has been made available; however, the Windows version is coming soon.

With today's official iOS5 release, redsn0w has been updated to 0.9.9b5 to include the public URLs for the IPSW files. This way, first-time iOS5 jailbreakers don't need to supply the IPSW file manually. It's still a tethered jailbreak on all except the old-bootrom iPhone3GS, and it doesn't apply to iPad2 or the upcoming iPhone4S.

Because the jailbreak is currently only tethered for most devices, we're not going to release a new PwnageTool yet. Instead, we've decided to build some of PwnageTool's functionality into redsn0w (since you need redsn0w to "Just boot tethered" on every power cycle anyway). The new "Custom IPSW" button on the Extras screen will create a custom IPSW without the baseband update for 4.3.3 or 5.0gm (iPhone3GS and iPhone4 only, for now). Remember not to accidentally restore to the stock IPSW after you create the custom one! The custom one begins with NO_BB_ (for "no baseband").

You must enter "Pwned DFU" mode before trying to use the NO_BB_ IPSW with iTunes (and your hosts file cannot be pointing to Cydia's servers due to the new blob nonce mechanism they're using in iOS5).

Version 0.9.9b5 only available for Mac for now, until we can do more testing on the Windows version of "Custom IPSW".

We're currently working on a normal compatibility update for existing ultrasn0w unlockers. After that we'll try to fix the iBooks issue on jailbroken iOS5.

You can download RedSn0w 0.9.9b5 from here.

The Complete untuk restore ios 5

iOS 5 is finally here of your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. Now what? With the flurry of features and updates being dropped today and yesterday the whole thing can be a confusing mess. Here's the best way to get up to speed and enjoy Apple's latest iOS.
While you're getting ready to update, remember that Apple's servers are getting hammered right now with downloads, people registering for iCloud and iOS 5 updates. If you're getting server error 3200 while attempting to update, or if your downloads are taking entirely too long for you, just relax. As traffic subsides the errors and download issues will go away and you'll be able to add images to Photo Stream in no time.
Update your Mac or PC
Before you update your iPhone, you'll want to grab a few updates. First update iTunes to 10.5. You'll need that update in order to actually installed iOS 5 on your device. For iCloud features, update Lion to 10.7.2 and iPhoto to 9.2. Lion and iTunes can be updated using Software Update, while iPhoto requires you to use the Mac App Store. If you're on a Windows machine, you need to download the iCloud control panel. Or you can skip all that and download the updates manually with the links below. And, this should go without saying BUT we're saying it 'cause you might need us to: Back everything up first!
Lion 10.7.2
iPhoto 9.2
iTunes 10.5
iCloud control panel for Windows

iOS 5 update
Before hitting the Check for Update button, you'll want to backup. You can manually force your iOS device to backup when you plug it in. Right-click on your device in the left-hand column in iTunes. Select Backup. Let iTunes do its magic before going forward. If something goes horribly wrong during the update, you'll thank me for this. (This would be a good time to do a backup of your whole machine too.)

Now lets download the iOS 5 update. You can manually download the update here, or you can just plug your iOS device into iTunes and Check for Update. At this point you have to make a decision. Do you want to just do the normal update, or go for the clean install with Restore.
The Check for Update install will download iOS 5 to your machine, your device will restart and the installation will begin. It might take a while to download the update, but the install should only take about 15-20 minutes. After a few restarts your device will be ready to go.
The Restore button will completely erase your device, apply the update, then sync all your backed up settings, apps, photos, and music to you device. This is helpful if you're having problems with your device or you just want the peace of mind that a clean install gives. To update this way, just hit the Restore button and iOS 5 will be downloaded like above. Because you've completely erased your device, the initial sync could take hours depending on the amount of apps and music you have on your device. What's nice is that as long as your device is plugged into iTunes, with iOS 5 you can continue the set up without interrupting the sync.
iCloud

While you're updating your iOS device, head to System Preferences and click on the iCloud preference to set up your free account.

If you're new to Apple's cloud services, use your Apple ID (the ID you use to buy music and apps from iTunes and the App Store) to sign in or set up a new one. You'll need iCloud for some of Apple's new iOS features like Photo Stream, Find my Mac, cloud backup of your iOS device, and Find My Friend. After sign up, you'll use the iCloud system preference to choose which features you want to utilize.
If you're migrating from from MobileMe, it'll take a few minutes to migrate to the new service. Whether you move to iCloud or not, Apple intends on killing off iDisk, iWeb pages, and its online galleries. Fortunately, you have until June 30, 2012 to pull your items off of iDisk and updating to iCloud won't stop you from accessing the online drive. So you might as well update. It's free.
iOS device set up

Once your iPhone finishes the update, you'll be presented with the setup-assistant walkthrough. You can now set up your iPhone without it being connected to your computer.

During the setup you'll first be asked if you want to set up Location Services. This allows your apps to access your location using your device's GPS feature and any location-logged Wi-Fi locations. Next, If you're at home or work, you can add your Wi-Fi network to your device.

If you decided to just update your iPhone instead of restore, skip the next two paragraphs, If you're one of the brave souls that decided to completely erase your device before updating with the Restore button, your device will now ask if you want to set up a new iPhone/iPad/iPod touch or restore from an iCloud or iTunes backup. Unless you've updated to iOS 5 previously and this is a reinstall, you probably don't have a back up saved to iCloud. Choose Restore from iTunes and if it isn't already, connect your device to iTunes.

You'll be presented with the latest backup of your iPhone in iTunes. Click on continue restore from that backup. Your device will be set up for restore and will restart after a few minutes. Going forward, you'll be able to restore your iOS device from iCloud. So when you're on vacation and your iPhone takes a dump on you, you'll be ready to restore without a computer around.

At this point you'll be asked to add your Apple ID information. This information is used to set up iTunes, the App Store, and iCloud.

Here is the big one, iCloud. If you made an account earlier, just tap, Use iCloud. You can adjust your iCloud settings on your device by heading to Settings>iCloud. There you can enable and disable features. Which is helpful if Photo Stream starts uploading photos you'd rather not share.

The set up assistant will also ask if you want to utilize Cloud Backup. I'd say hold off on that for a few days. iCloud is going to be busy with new accounts. Instead you should continue to back up to your computer for now. You have a few more choices to make and you're done. I highly recommend using Find my iPhone. If your device is lost or stolen, this is a killer feature.
Your iOS device should now be ready to enjoy all the new features of iOS 5.
Once your iPhone finishes the update, you'll be presented with the setup-assistant walkthrough. You can now set up your iPhone without it being connected to your computer.

New RedSn0w Released Brings Numerous New Features

MuscleNerd has announced a major update to the RedSn0w jailbreak utility that brings numerous new features.

A bunch of new features!
● uses DFU mode to try to automatically determine which device and FW you have
● fetches pieces of public IPSWs from Apple (once). Non-public IPSWs must be provided manually (once). It then caches those pieces for future use.
● "Just boot" is a tethered boot. Uses whatever "Preferences" you've set for boot logo and kernel boot-args
● "Pwned DFU" puts your device in a pwned DFU state for some of the iTunes stuff detailed below
● "Recovery fix" gets past 1015 types of errors (when baseband portion of restore fails). Should work on iOS5 beta too
● "Select IPSW" is for picking non-public IPSWs, or overriding auto-detection
● "SHSH blobs" has a bunch of options…
● "Fetch" - fetch current PARTIAL blobs on device. Puts this set PARTIAL of blobs on your computer as a plist. Checks if Cydia already has a full set for this device and build. If not, it submits this partial set and returns Cydia's acknowledgement or rejection
● "Verify" - cryptographically verifies existing blob files from either redsn0w, TinyUmbrella, or Cydia server. You can select a whole bunch of blobs to verify at once if you want (like the TinyUmbrella directory)
● "Submit" - both verifies and submits one or more blob files to Cydia. This lets you copy your entire TinyUmbrella cache of blobs up to the Cydia server
● "Query" - queries the Cydia server for all available full or partial blobs for a given set of ECIDs
● "Stitch" - stitches either FULL or PARTIAL blobs to a STOCK or CUSTOM IPSW

1. FULL blobs stitched to a STOCK IPSW gives you a completely self-contained signed IPSW that iTunes will accept without any tricks (no need to go into pwned DFU mode, no need to start TinyUmbrella TSS server, no need to redirect to Cydia server for blobs)
2. PARTIAL blobs stitched to any IPSW requires you to go into pwned DFU mode before running iTunes. No need to start TU or use Cydia though.
3. stitching either FULL or PARTIAL blobs to a CUSTOM IPSW also requires a pwned DFU start before iTunes restores. No need to start TU or use Cydia though.
4. stitching is NOT yet supported on iPhones (well, at least not tested). Need to work out the baseband part of the restore process.
5. will eventually support fetching the blobs directly from Cydia instead of a file on your computer

You can download the new version of RedSn0w from here: (WindowsMac).

iPhone 5 With iOS 5 Will Arrive on September 7th Together?

When can you expect iOS 5 to drop on your iPhone? September’s a given, but the latest rumor gives an exact date that all the ripples of the iCloud will come to your device… along with the iPhone 5.

The International Business Times says that the iPhone 5 will drop on September 7th, and coming along for the ride with it will be iOS 5.

While we wouldn’t count the day out, it’s a sketchy rumor: any weekday in September seems just as likely to us as the 7th. More to the point, some of the logic the article uses to support its supposition is sketchy at best, and we’re particularly puzzled by this breathlessly passive-aggressive paragraph:
iPhone adherents will seethe with anger if their phone doesn’t tally up to the competitions’ range of Android OS-based phones as early as possible. Apple must have found it difficult to contend with the allegation that most of the rumored iPhone 5 features are already on Android OS-based devices.
Anyone out there really think Apple’s finding it “difficult to contend” with Android’s feature set? Anyone out there “seething in anger” over the inferiority over Apple’s mobile products? Didn’t think so.
